A poem for spring

dig a hole as deep as its roots,
gently pat each flower in place~
water generously, sport a sunshiny face.
Don't be discouraged with slow growing blooms,
think of what they'll become if given some room.

[I wrote this poem after planting flowers with my daughter, Ashlyn, and hearing her say, "Tuck them in nice and cozy!"]    :)
