Washington Trip~ Day Four, Tuesday, July 23rd~

We awoke to a sunny morning!! :)
Until this time, we shivered through jacket mornings until the sun came out at Noon [or at least I had].
We caught a Seattle bus to Pier 52, and waited for our ferry ride across Puget Sound.
The destination was Bremerton, and it was interesting to note all the business people and families traveling via ferry. There seemed to be as many "walk-on" travelers as there were vehicles!
Watching a ferry arrive at the dock.
Can you tell I was cold?   :)
As the ferry took us away from the shore, we were in awe of the beauty around us ....

The children counted the numerous jellyfish, all the way to Bremerton!
We arrived in Bremerton at Low Tide, and strolled along the docks.

We were amazed at what we saw!
What a fantastic Pacific marine biology lesson!
Mussels had attached themselves along the dock ...
Can you see the starfish and crab?
There were numerous sea anemone's ...
... and jellyfish!
What fun! If only we could have snorkeled, right? I wondered what it must have looked like underwater!
The children didn't want to leave the dock area ... but we were hungry! :)
We made a quick stop at Subway,

and then returned to the dock area.
Richard took the boys inside of the USS Turner Joy, a retired Navy Destroyer from the Vietnam War era.

Ashlyn & I sat in the sun to pretend-play with flowers while we waited on the boys.  :)
At times, I'd close my eyes and simply enjoy the moment!!
The Pacific Northwest sun and cool breeze was beginning to grow on me.
I tend to be a deep thinker, and deep thoughts are more pleasant with cool breezes on your face... ahhh....    :)
Once the boys returned, we explored a little more ...then ran to catch our ferry.   :)
The return trip across Puget Sound offered more gorgeous views.
Yes, that's Mt. Rainier in the distance.

Guess what?!
Now that we had become experts at navigating Seattle's public transportation ... it was time to rent a vehicle!!   :)  :)
Richard picked up a Dodge Caravan, and then took us for a drive.
What a treat! :)

We enjoyed a couple of "beach" areas  ...
... thankful for all of God's blessings!
