As I was saying, I begin to feel discouragement creep up on me, and then realize that I've missed checking my thyroid levels since we were sick for two months -and I had put it off. UGH! Do you realize how hard it is for mothers to have proper health care-especially home school mothers?? Medical locations are only open from 9-5. Honestly, do you think most mothers enjoy taking all her children to an appointment to be stared at and asked, "Is school out today?"; "Oh, you must have your hands full ...I'd never be able to teach my kids, they'd drive me crazy! I don't know how you do it."
Many times I feel like responding, "[ahem], what do you mean? I AM crazy?!?!?!" " I'm honestly losing my mind, specifically why I'm seeing the doctor today!!! This is what being a home school/stay at home mom looks like, people! [said while fluffing out hair to look like a maniac]!!!!", "I'm just like anyone else except that I don't have a life outside the home, thank you very much!!!!"". Instead, I bite my tongue and exhibit perfect politeness 'til we're out of the doctor's office.
LOL!!! I'm exaggerating of course, and yes, I end up remembering that I do have a great life in and outside home ... I'm blessed. Really- I am. ;) .... lol!
Earlier today, I read Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart .." I had this "ah-ha" moment while the word "also", jumped off the page at me. God already delights in each of His children- even within our crazy, ridiculous mommy moments or within discouragement. He longs for us to delight in Him with the same eagerness He delights in us!! I'm not a theologian and might be way off, but this is what I personally got out of the word "also". :)
God has greatly blessed me, and I'm thankful for this life I have. Even in the crazy/catch up moments ....
I just need to continue in my pursuit of Christ~~ and delight in Him!
