Oh how the years go by ...

There's an "old" Amy Grant song ...
(chorus)
And oh how the years go by
And oh how the love brings tears to my eyes
All through the changes the soul never dies
We fight we laugh we cry as the years go by

There's nothing that causes a person to realize just what's most important in life (personal relationships with God and others) than when tragedy or personal trials strike. A friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and she is three years younger than I! She and her young family have a long fight ahead of them, as it appears the cancer is an aggressive form. I pray God teaches me how to be the friend I should be and how to walk beside them throughout their journey.

Just yesterday, I was a bit impatient with my husband (yes, I'm that way now and then). Several hours later, I thought how silly the "issues" I had with my husband were in comparison to sudden tragedy (i.e. the recent shooting in Norway), or being diagnosed with cancer.
I was reminded once again just how life does not revolve around me .... lol!!   :)

Ask God what His will is for you, hug a family member, and remember how the little, petty things in life really don't matter ... what ultimately matters is our relationships. "...we fight, we laugh, we cry, as the years go by .."
